She worked hard at whatever the task at hand. She always had time for a phone call, a visit, a cup of tea and a word of support. If anyone needed help she was there. She spent her life looking after others and welcomed everyone into her home. Her positive attitude made anything you were doing seem possible. Mary became interested in genealogy and spent many years exchanging letters and phone calls while also receiving visitors from all over the world. If you had a question, you just called Mary because she would know the answer. Mary was a member of the River Denys Presbyterian Church. Mary’s family would like to thank all her caregivers over the years, Dr. Collins and Dr. Pluta, the doctors and nurses of the Strait Richmond Hospital, Dr. Ritter, palliative nurses, continuing care nurses, all the home care workers and especially Donna and Arlene who were just like family. Kennie, who supported her day to day which allowed her to stay in her own home for many years and Malcolm and Elizabeth who Mary lived with the few years and who took excellent care of her.
