Ames, Audrey Joan 69 ofPort Hawkesbury died Friday December 26,2003 at Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Bom in Sydney she was a daughter of the late John NB and Dolena Milry (MacLeod) MacLean. She was employed by MT& T and JW Stephens of Sydney in her youth; she was also a homemaker. She was a past member of the Port Hawkesbury Curling Club. She is survived by sons Robert(Dorothy)Unionville, ON, Brian(Suzi) Port Hawkesbury, sister Ruth(Norman) MacLeod, Baddeck; grandchildren, Breton & Brandi McCarthy, Port Hawkesbury; Laura & Michael McCarthy, Unionville,ON and a very special niece Carolyn Young who is thanked for her caring and kindness which meant so much to Audrey and her family, Much appreciation goes out to her other caregivers. She was predeceeased by her husband Albert(Cal) Ames, sisters Sally MacLean, Edith Primmer, brothers Fredrick, Donald, Howard, Lawrence, Jackie, Jobn. Cremation has taken place. Funeral service and burial will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Strait Area Kidney Foundation or Palliative Care Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
