ADAMSSON, - In her 88th year, Vergin Genevieve Adamsson, of St. Peter's, formerly of Lower L'Ardoise, Cape Breton, was called home on Thursday morning, April 27, 2006. She was cared for during her final days in Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston. She will be sadly missed by her sons, Nils (Marcella), Pat (Mary), Jeffrey (Deborah), Dale; daughters, Lillie Spray and Barbara (Philip) Campbell; 20 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Jane McGrath, Baie Comeau; sister-in-law, Lena Landry, Lower L'Ardoise; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Henry; infant daughter, Mary; parents, Passia Landry and Mary (Doyle) (Lower L'Arodoise); sister, Evelyn Landry (Halifax); brothers, Amos Landry (Halifax), Jeffrey Landry (Lower L'Ardoise); eight siblings in childhood; granddaughter, Michelle Risi (Kitchener, Ont.); great-grandson, Drew Harding (Shelburne).
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday in L'Ardoise Funeral Home, located on the grounds of Holy Guardian Angels Church. Funeral mass will be held 10 a.m. Monday in Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, L'Ardoise, with Father Barrett Claire Johnson officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Donations may be made to Holy Guardian Angels Parish Cemetery or a charity of choice. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, St. Peter's.
