Avery, Ethel Dortha -76, Guysborough. It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Ethel Dortha Avery on Saturday, January 8, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Lundy, Guys. Co. she was the daughter of the late Tony and Amelia (Richard) Avery. Ethel was a housewife and a member of St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, Larry’s River. Ethel is survived by her loving children, John (Debbie), Ontario; Joe, Manchester; James (Maggie), Guysborough; Carol (Steve) Finch, Hatchet Lake; Rose (James) Skinner, Guysborough. Nana's loving grandchildren, Johnny, Tanya, Michael, Cindy, Amanda, Laura, Lacey, Scott, Julia, Chelsea, Kimberly, Sheena and Joshua; great-grandson, Maddex, sister, Mildred and special friend Nancy, Guysborough. She was predeceased by her first husband, Clarence Gerrior, second husband, Henry, five sisters, five brothers and one half- brother. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Thursday from 3-9 p .m. in Communities Along the Bay Multi-Use Facility, Bradford Pellerin Room, Larry's River. Funeral Mass will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Larry's River with Father Bill Crispo officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery at a later date. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of the Dennis Haverstock Funeral Homes Ltd., Guysborough.
