Armsworthy, Phyllis Theresa (Hendsbee) - 51, Half Island Cove, Guys. Co.; passed away at home on Friday, February 11, 2011 with her family by her side. Born in Canso she was a daughter of James Leo Hendsbee, Half Island Cove and the late Annie T. Hendsbee.
Phyllis worked at Hanhams Gas and Convenience, Half Island Cove up to the time of her sickness. She worked for numerous years at Belmont Resort, Guysborough. Phyllis was a member of the Half Island Cove Baptist Church and also helped with the development of the Half Island Cove Playground. Phyllis will always be remembered for her kindness and laughter and always thought of others. She loved a good laugh with all, but most of all she cherished her four daughters and her three grandsons. She fought a long hard battle with cancer and never gave in till the last, now she’s at rest with her Mom.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry; daughters, Rachel (Godfrey) Pellerine, Jamie (Martin) Boerefyn, Anita (Kelly) MacIntyre and Chelsie all of Antigonish; sisters, Debbie (Victor) Sangster, Hortons Cove; Eileen (Kenny) Ehler, Peas Brook; Pauline (Oren) Rhynold; Phillips Harbour and Maxine (Mike) Feltmate, Hazel Hill, Brother, Johnny (Donna) Hendsbee, Half Island Cove; grandsons, Godfrey, Adian, Dalton, Ethan and lots of special nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother.
There will be no visitation by her request. Burial will take place at a later date with Rev. David Wheeler officiating. Donations in Phyllis’s memory may be made to the Guysborough Palliative Care or Bayview Baptist Cemetery, Half Island Cove. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Guysborough. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.haverstocks.com
