ANDREWS, Laurier Samuel – 80, Guysborough, passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2012, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born in Guysborough, he was a son of the late Ira and Hilda (Gosbee) Andrews. Laurier was a long time member of the Eastern Light Lodge #72, Guysborough. He was a member of Wesley United Church, Guysborough, where he served as treasurer for 31 years. He also served as Secretary/Treasurer for the Guysborough Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed gardening, stamp collecting and watching sports of all kinds. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Joyce (Sangster); sons, David, Daryl (Wilda) and Shawn (Meggan), all of Guysborough. He was predeceased by infant daughter, Mary; brother, Lloyd. The family at this time would like to express a sincere thank you to Dr. Foley for the care she had shown towards Laurier. There will be no visitation. A Masonic service followed by a private family graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 15, in Evergreen Cemetery, Guysborough, with Rev. Heather Manuel officiating. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations may be made to Guysborough Memorial Hospital.
