ASAPH, (Stuart) Maxine Ruth - 77, Blues Mills, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 surrounded by her family, favorite flowers, and favorite stuffed animals. Born in Lockeport, she was the daughter of the late Lionel and Delta (Snow) Stuart. She is survived by her daughters, Kimberley, Krista, and Shelley; grandchildren, Kyle, Kory, and Josh; grand"son", Justin; sisters, Cheryl (Bob) and Rachel (Richard); brothers, John (Melita) and Carmen (Liz); aunts, Alina, and Bonnie and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Elmer William Asaph. Maxine was the proud, hardworking owner of Mountain Brook Motel. She enjoyed the beauty and nature of her home, spending time at the beach, knitting and the companionship of her cat, Snuggy Bug. Anyone who would come to visit would enjoy the sound of her chimes and the warmth of her fireplace. She was deeply religious, strong in her faith and enjoyed the teachings of Dr. Charles Stanley. Days before her passing she was reaffirmed in her faith by the Reverend Andrew MacDonald and Kenena MacFadyen with her family by her side. Many thanks to all the doctors, nurses, homecare workers and all others who provided care for her over the past year. Many special thanks go to Donna, Paula, Johnena, Lisa, Dr. Chow, Dr. Ritter, and Dr. Garcia. The funeral service will be held on Sunday at 2 P.M. in St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Whycocomagh, with Reverend Andrew MacDonald officiating. Burial in Southside Big Baddeck Cemetery immediately following the service. Memorial donations can be made to Central Inverness Palliative Care Society. Arrangements are under the care of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Whycocomagh.
