It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Harvey Bernard, who left us one day after his 24th birthday, on Thursday, December 19, 2024. Born in Antigonish, he was a son of Brenda Prosper and the late Harvey Bernard, he was a cherished son, brother, and friend.
Harvey is survived by his loving mother, Brenda; his brothers, Chad Prosper and Oliver Bernard; and many friends and relatives who will miss him dearly.
Harvey had a passion for gaming and often found joy in spending time at home immersed in his favorite pastime. He also dedicated his time to working with Elder Joe Googoo, a relationship that brought him great fulfillment and wisdom. He was a hard worker, and also lobster fished with Rodger Googoo.
A proud student of NSCC and METI, Harvey pursued his interests in driving and operating small engines, showcasing his commitment to learning and personal growth.
Harvey's vibrant spirit, kindness, and dedication to those he cared about will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Thursday, January 2, 2025 in the Elder Center (Fisheries Building), 160 Reservation Rd, Waycobah First Nation. Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, January 4, 2025 from Blessed St. Katari Parish, Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Waycobah First Nation with Father Joby Augustin officiating. Burial at a later date.
