LeBlanc, Marie ‘Geralda’ - Cleveland. It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Geralda on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at the QEII Hospital in Halifax.

Born in Cheticamp, Geralda was the youngest daughter of Ada and Theophile Doucet. She spent her childhood in a small house in Grand Étang, a place that always remained close to her heart.

Geralda will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 45 years, Richard LeBlanc; and their children, Samm (Keith), Enfield; Andre (Connie), Corner Brook; Michelle (Phillip), Port Hawkesbury; and Denise (Josh), Cleveland. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, who were her pride and joy: Chris, Logan, Liam, Hannah, Nathan, and Darius. She is also survived by her siblings, Celeste (Derek), Marguerite (Fernand), and her twin brother, Gerald (Jodi), along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Geralda was predeceased by her parents, Ada and Theophile; her brother, Andre and her infant sister, Martine.

Geralda worked for 30 years at Woolco and later Walmart in Port Hawkesbury, where she formed many lasting friendships that continued well into her retirement. She always looked forward to her next road trip with “the girls.” She was also an active participant in the CORAH program at the NSCC from its early days, embracing the many new experiences it offered - especially the cooking classes, which were among her favorites. Her warmth, kindness, and positive outlook touched everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She loved to travel and cherished every opportunity to visit family and friends. In her younger years, she enjoyed taking train rides to New Brunswick, and she later made many memorable trips to Ontario and Newfoundland to spend time with loved ones. One of her most cherished recent memories was traveling to Florida with her sister and visiting Disney World, a place she never imagined she would one day see.

The love Geralda carried in her heart for her family was unwavering and unconditional. She thought the world of her children and grandchildren and was always there to guide and support them. She celebrated their successes with pride and stood beside them through life’s challenges, always their biggest cheerleader and their strongest anchor.

Geralda found great joy in life’s simple moments: card games around the kitchen table, going for drives exploring new roads and finding yard sales with her beloved husband, picking berries, watching the hummingbirds, and especially the annual family camping trips that meant so much to her.

She will be missed beyond words. “Je t’aime beaucoup.”

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the Riverdale Community Center, 106 Vince McCarthy Dr., Lower River Inhabitants from 1-4 p.m.
