With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Julia Anne Wagner MacLean on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at the age of 56.

Born in Halifax, NS on May 22, 1969, Julia was the youngest daughter of John K. MacLean and the late Annie Christina (MacKinnon) MacLean of Port Hastings.

Julia was a compassionate care giver at the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home. She loved her BINGO! Always meeting up with friends to go play her cards and go for drives with her best friend Leona. She was a member of the Port Hastings Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

Julia is survived by her life partner, Steve Chisholm, Heatherton; her children, Tyson Gale (JoAnna Pelrine) and Karianne Gale; grandchildren, Sophia and Sawyer; her father, John K. MacLean (Vivian); her sister, Phyllis Brown; brother, Jamie MacLean; stepbrothers, Joey and Danny Ryan. Julia was predeceased by her mother, Annie; brother, Glenford.

Visitation will take place from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2026, in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, 724 Granville St, Port Hawkesbury.

Funeral Service will take place at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, in St. David’s United Church, 7 Old Victoria Rd., Port Hastings with Sandi Irving, DLM officiating. Burial to follow in St. David’s Cemetery, Port Hastings. A reception will follow in St. David’s Hall.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. David’s United Church, Port Hastings.
