Debra Ann Dodge Obituary

Debra Ann Dodge, 71, of Toronto, Ontario, passed away peacefully on February 25th, 2026 at Strait Richmond Hospital, Cape Breton. 


Debbie was born in Toronto on May 2nd 1954 to parents Agatha and George Pyke. She worked predominantly as a Counsellor and then Account Director for Credit Canada until she retired. 


Debbie was never afraid to try new things, she had many interests and hobbies. She enjoyed creative endeavours including quilting, sewing, spinning, weaving, drawing and painting. Debbie was an incredible artist with a collection of wonderful paintings, drawings and urban sketches she completed over the years. Debbie always kept her sketch book nearby and did her last sketch days before her passing. 


Debbie was a person of independence and determination. Having her support meant you could face anything. Always looking out for her loved ones and always being creative through her hobbies. Debbie created a home for her family no matter the location.


Debbie is survived by her son, Colin Dodge, sister Joanne Pyke, nephew Johnny Dawson and his wife Glynnis Dawson, niece Cathy Dawson, Great-nephews John Paul Dawson and Luke Dawson.


She is preceded in death by her parents, Agatha and George Pyke, brother Colin Pyke, and sister Mary Dawson.


Debbie will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery in Toronto at a later date. A Celebration of Life will be held this spring in Cape Breton. All family and friends will be welcome to join us for this celebration.
