We the family of Elizabeth "Sarah" Halloran of Guysborough are heartbroken to announce her death which occurred Saturday, January 17th, 2026 at the age of 81 in the Guysborough Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Our mom was born in Fox Island, the eldest daughter of Vincent and Amanda (Munroe) Daley. She left home at an early age moving to the village of Guysborough where she began working at the Main Street Bon Ton only to soon meet and marry her lifelong partner, Eldon.
Mom worked at various local businesses over the years as well as being a true seamstress and avid crafter. Her passion for quilting was a thing of beauty. She presented elaborate quilts to each and every one of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sisters and others. She kept a loving home with many family gatherings and delicious meals and was always happiest spending time with family and friends. For years, her many shopping trips with her dear friend Doreen, ended with her other favorite pastime, BINGO.
Mom was not without her challenges in life, battling and beating cancer twice and then dementia in her final years. She showed true grit and determination, always a fighter and never giving up.
Left behind to mourn is her husband of 61 years Eldon; daughter Karen (Robert) McDermid, sons Regis (Linda) and John (Verna). Sarah will also be dearly missed by her beloved grandchildren Emma, Cale, Julaea, Joel, Marlayna, Jacob and Maggie and her great grandchildren; Siblings Emmitt (Marilyn) Daley, Irene Daley, and Regina (Michael) Hamer; nieces and nephews;
Sarah was predeceased by siblings Isabelle Daley, Jim Daley, Marion Sampson, Howard Daley and twin sisters in infancy; granddaughter Alayna Dawn Halloran.
The family wishes to thank the incredibly wonderful staff at the Milford Haven Home for the special care they’ve shown during her journey with dementia these past two years. Thank you to our many neighbours and friends who have shown kindness especially Maureen and Janet. Also special thank you to the late Dr. Anita Foley and Dr. Ranjini Mahendrarajah for their exceptional care and dedication.

Cremation has taken place with no visitation or funeral service. Celebration of life to be held at a later date.
