Angus Jerome Campbell Obituary

Angus Jerome Campbell, age 65, embraced the promise of eternal life on January 2, 2026, peacefully at home on the hill in Brook Village, overlooking the farm where he spent his life.

Born on May 31st, 1960, Angus lived a quiet and meaningful life and was an integral part of the dayto-day operation of the family farm. He was known for his kind and generous heart and never failed to show it to those closest to him. His smile was always brightest when his nieces and nephews - and later, his grand-nieces and grand-nephews - arrived at the barn, especially when they brought the latest news or were driving a new car.

Angus enjoyed listening to Country Gold at full volume on Sunday afternoons, going for drives, and sitting on the verandah with a cold pop in hand. He was the most reliable source for historical family events – including what the weather was like that day, who was there and what was said. You name it – Angus knew it. More than anything, he will be fondly remembered for his kindness and thoughtfulness, never missing an opportunity to show his love through a card on a special occasion, an ice-cream treat in the milk house, or a trip to the store or the go-carts. His nieces and nephews were truly blessed to have Angus as their uncle.

Angus was able to comfortably and happily live the life he lived, which enabled him to remain in the family home, alongside his brother Colie and sister-in-law Cathy and their children Cynthia and Cyle, for whom the family is deeply grateful.

Faith assures us that Angus is now reunited with his parents, Margaret (Gillis) Campbell and John Angus Campbell, as well as his infant sister Mary Josephine and his older brother James “Jim”.

Left to honour his memory - and to keep the treat dish full and the woodbox stocked - are his siblings: John William “Jackie” (Jeanette), Port Hood, NS; Anne (late Dougald) MacDonald, Windsor, ON; Francis Colin “Colie” (Cathy), Brook Village, NS; Jane (Sandy) MacKinnon, Port Hood, NS; Joan (Duncan) MacDonald, Brook Village, NS; and Kevin Campbell, Brook Village, NS; sister-in-law Mary Anne Campbell, Woodslee, ON.

Angus will also be lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews: Bruce, Tyler, Gary, Tammy, Michael, Jean, Shelley, Melissa, Brenda, Charlene, Carolyn, Lindsay, John Francis, Cynthia, Cyle and their families. Along with many cherished grand nieces, grand nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 8 from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Brook Village Parish Hall. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, January 9 from St. John the Baptist Church, Brook Village. Donations in Angus’ memory may be made to the St. John The Baptist Cemetery Fund or St. John The Baptist Parish Building Fund. The family takes comfort in knowing that Angus is now at peace, surrounded by God’s love, reunited with those who went before him, and watching over the farm and family he held so dear.

“Well done, good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of your Lord.” — Matthew 25:23
