Timothy 'Tim' Walter Card Obituary
Timothy “Tim” Walter Card
March 21, 1963- December 8, 2025
Peas Brook, Guysborough Co., NS
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Timothy Walter Card {Tim, Toot to his childhood friends, Timbit, Papa Tim and Dad}, age 62 of Peas Brook, Nova Scotia.
Tim passed away peacefully on Monday, December 8th, 2025 after spending over 15 weeks at the Halifax QEII Health Sciences Centre, with his loving wife Vonda by his side.
Born on March 21, 1963 in Windsor, Nova Scotia, Tim was a son of Bruce and Shirley (MacDonald) Card. He attended Windsor Regional High School and was on the Windsor Bluefins swim/dive team in the 1970’s. He had a great love for hockey, and growing up he played ball hockey in the summer and ice hockey down on the quarry all winter. He was a great skater. Tim joined the military at a young age and worked many years at carpentry and painting.
Tim will be remembered for being a devoted husband, father, stepfather and papa which brought him a tremendous amount of joy and pride.
He had a quiet, caring personality. He was steady, loyal, and always there when it mattered.
He had a great sense of humour and a thirst for knowledge, always learning how to do things, whether it was working on computers or fixing things.
He loved documentaries, world news, the Trailer Park Boys, Bruce Springsteen, Christmastime and the original movie, the Grinch Who Stole Christmas.
Tim’s love of motorbikes started at an early age with his best friend, Andy. Dirt Bikes, minibikes, they would rebuild them and drive them. This led him to take a small engine repair course. He could always be found tinkering in the shed on the motorbikes or surfing Kijiji for the next best one to trade or buy to fix up.
On October 22, 1999, Tim married his beloved wife Vonda Mary (George) Card. Together they shared 35 wonderful years and raised their daughter Katrina, who he was so proud of and loved spending time with, taking her to many skating and swimming lessons, and exploring Nova Scotia together on summer camping trips. He was an amazing stepfather to Natasha (Peter) Frazier and David (Brandy Michelbrink) Rhynold. Devoted to them and loved them as his own, teaching them right from wrong, how to drive, how to rebuild motorbikes, always patient, always kind.
Tim was a proud grandfather to Samantha, Justin, and Serenity Frazier, Moana Michelbrink Rhynold and Rory Rhynold. He was a cherished great-grandfather “Papa Tim” to the apple of his eye, Riyan Verma.
Tim leaves behind with broken hearts and precious memories his wife, children, grandchildren and his special sister, Leslie (Larry) Coone who spent many weekends by his side these past few months. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, Eugene O’Leary, Harvey (Celesta) George; special sisters-in-law, Susan (Kevin) McKeough, Linda Hoglund (Paul Thain), Cathy (Mike) van der Putten, Janet Card, and his best friend, Andy (Debby) Richards; family friends, Tina Pelley and Rose Richardson; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and Aunt June.
He was predeceased by his parents, Bruce and Shirley Card; his brothers, Dereck and Kevin Card; sister Crystal Joy; and sister -in-law, Marjorie O’Leary.
Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Tim’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral. A graveside service will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bikers Down, Guysborough Food Bank, or a charity of your choice.
Thank You to our family and friends for the many visits to the hospital, and to the staff at the QEII – Doctors, nurses and all the teams, especially the trauma team, ortho, plastics, and LifeFlight, for the amazing care Tim received in the ICU, the IMCU and Unit 4.2.
Tim will be forever loved, deeply missed, and remembered always.
Arrangements are under the care of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Guysborough. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at: www.haverstocks.com
