Eileen Mary Wood passed away at the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home on Thursday, September 25, 2025.

A faithful Catholic has the kindest heart and touched many lives.  She was a loving family member and devoted friend.  She was passionate about advocating for her son Bobby, a Thalidomide Survivor whose passing was a deep loss for her.

Eileen had a passion for math and expressed herself through her beautiful writing.  She found joy in simple pleasures like a hot cup of tea and a sweet.

Eileen is survived by her sons, Stephen (Denise), David (Terri) and Brian (Wilena); grandchildren, Mark, Colton (Jade),  Cody (Brenna), Jonathan (Brianne) Jamie and Clara;   siblings, Bernie (Evelyn),  Leo (Margie), Myrtle (Damian) and Helen (Steve); sister-in-law Priscilla Meagher;  great-grandchildren, Josie, Rease, Eilidh, Tanner, Layton, Paisley and Cooper.

Eileen was predeceased by her beloved husband, Allan; her son, Bobby; her brother, Robert and sister, Carol Ann.

Eileen will be deeply missed and remembered for her kindness.

Visitation will be held Monday, September 29th, 2025 from 12:30-2 p.m. in Mulgrave and Area Resting Place; followed by Funeral Mass at 2 p.m. in St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, Mulgrave with Father Allan MacPhie officiating assisted by Deacon Berkley Guthro. Burial to follow the service in the Parish Cemetery.
