Annie Theresa Meagher (Peeples) - Pirate Harbour. Born in Mulgrave, Annie passed away at the RK MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish on Friday, September 5 at the age of 103.

She was a daughter of Ernest and Mary (Chisholm) Peeples. Annie was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard Meagher and her brothers, Clayton, Dan, Harold, Alonzo and Earl as well as her son, John Bernard.

Annie is survived by her children, Marilyn (Bob MacAvoy), Claire (Gerard Delorey), Bernadette Nash, Sharon (Barry Cavicchi), Theresa Meagher (Andre Levangie) and Ernie (Donna Palmer Meagher); 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Anna Peeples and Heather Hadley (John Meagher).

Annie enjoyed quilting, knitting, viewing the birds and squirrel’s antics and was an avid Toronto Blue Jays fan.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. There will be no visitation as per request. Funeral mass will be held on Monday, September 15th at 11 am at St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, Mulgrave, with Fr. Alan MacPhie officiating. Private burial in the Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mulgrave Heritage Museum or a charity of one’s choice.
