We are saddened to announce the passing of our dad, Tory Samuel Snow age 89, New Glasgow, who passed away Saturday, July 5th, 2025, in the Aberdeen Hospital.

Born and raised in Fox Island, Tory was the son of the late Jack and Veronica (Richard) Snow.

To say our dad was a hard worker would be an understatement. Beginning at the tender age of 13 he followed in his father’s footsteps working in the woods. Dad was the jack of all trades; he could fix your car or build you a house. At age 15, he began his lifelong journey as a trawlermen fishing the grand banks until he hung up his hat after the collapse of ground fishery in 1991. Dad was always in his happy place fishing and hunting with his boys, tinkering with his truck, going to see his favourite band Newfie Fever and of course “recycling”.

Left to mourn the loss of a great brother, father, Poppy and great Poppy are Brothers, Gerald (Leila), Ron (Barbara) and Francis and special sister in law Amy Gosbee; His children, Darlene, Charlie , May (Tracy), Artie (Dess) Gordie (Lorna) Hank ( Ang) Carolyn (Sean), Stacey (Scott) and Odessa; Grandchildren, Amanda, Gordie Jr., Ryan, Shanelle, Bruce, Crystal, M.J.,Tory, Katlyn, Cody, Dillon, Desiree, Tristan, Charley, Cole, Hunter and Braeden; Great grandchildren, Kevin, Abby, Jace, Jesslyn, Landon, Nova, Mackinleigh, Finnley ,Xavier, Lincoln, Ashlyn, Lilah, Deklan, and Ella.

Dad was predeceased by son in law Kevin; granddaughters, Morgan and Maddie and grandson, Corey; Brothers John, Albert, Tom, Gilbert, Robert, Percy, and Chester;  sisters, Florence, Marie, Elizabeth, Blanch, and Sofie.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Schnare and nurses of the palliative care floor at the Aberdeen Hospital.

Visitation will be held at Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home in Canso on Sunday, July 13th from 2-9 p.m. Funeral service will be at the funeral home on Monday, July 14th at 11:00 with Fr. Jonathan Nnajiofor officiating. As per dad’s wishes a private internment will take place at a later date.
