Kennie will be missed by his brothers, John (Judy), Skye Glen, NS; Laurie (Petra), Trenton, ON; sisters, Diana McCloskey (Linus), Cornwall, PEI; Patricia Noade (Jerry), Timberlea, NS; Ella Rankin (Terry), Fort McMurray, AB; and many nieces and nephews.

Although Kennie lived most of his life at home in Skye Glen with his wife Linda, he was often employed away as a commercial insulator at worksites in Port Hawkesbury, Sydney, Tuffs Cove, Saint John, NB and Fort McMurray, AB. He also worked as plow operator at the Happy Valley-Goose Bay airport in Labrador, Newfoundland. While at home, he drove bulldozers for two construction companies and farm tractors during hay season.

At home, Kennie enjoyed the company of his family and many friends. He loved his pet dogs and he enjoyed keeping track of the many birds at his window feeders. He liked to tend his vegetable and flower gardens in the summer and keeping his lawn mowed. Kennie enjoyed playing the mouth organ, watching movies and reading westerns. He liked to fish trout in the summer at his secret fishing holes on the Skye Glen River. He enjoyed cooking and baking birthday cakes for loved ones.

Kennie's family will lay him to rest in the Skye Glen Cemetery at a later date this summer. Donations may be made in Kennie's memory to the Skye Glen Cemetery c/o Isabel Munro, General Delivery, Whycocomagh, NS, B0E-3M0
