Lucy Geraldine Lucas

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Lucy Geraldine Lucas on Saturday, May 31, 2025 in Milford Haven Nursing Home. Born January 29, 1949 in Guysborough she was 76 years old at the time of her passing, she was the daughter of the late Dorothy Lucas and Raymond Mansfield.

Geraldine was a phenomenal mother, grandmother, friend and extraordinary all-around person. Geraldine worked at Canso Seafood for 35 years, prior to that she worked in Antigonish as a childcare provider. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, playing cards and spending time with her loved ones.

Geraldine is survived by her daughters, Monica, Sunnyville, NS and Rosey (chosen), Lincolnville, NS and her sons, Allen and Clayton, both of Sunnyville, NS, siblings; Judy (Bernard - deceased), Sunnyville, NS; Beverly (Roy), Roxanne (Richard - deceased), Bruce (Jo-Anne - deceased), all of Toronto, ON; Debbie, Patricia, Brenda, Diane, all of Halifax, NS and Raymond, Montreal, QC; grandchildren, Tosha, Channon, Taya, Jillian, AJ, Shara and Raylene (chosen). She is predeceased by siblings, James, Alice (Michael), Betty, Darline, Peter and longtime friend Vivian.

Special thanks to staff at Guysborough Memorial Hospital and Milford Haven Nursing Home. Visitation will take place in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, 54 Queen St, Guysborough on Friday, June 6, 2025 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 pm. Funeral service to be held at Sunnyville United Baptist Church on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 2 p.m. with Rev. David Wheeler officiating.

Burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Guysborough.  A meal will be held in her honour at the Sunnyville Community Hall after burial.
