Evelyn Kelly posted a condolence

My name is Evelyn Kelly, formerly of Mulgrave but now living in Victoria, B.C. I remember Gerald from High School in Mulgrave in the late 1960's. He laughed often and had a "bit of mischief" in him. Moira, you might remember my Mom, Agnes Kelly who lived in Pirate Harbour. Your dad taught me in Mulgrave High School and also your Uncle Anthony who was the principal of the school. And, I also knew Catherine and Philip when I went to school there. You might also remember Ann Carter (my first cousin) who I believe went to Mulgrave High School at one point as well. Ann now lives here in B.C. in the Vancouver area. Gerald was my first love (way back then, over 65 years ago!). He was a lively fellow back then who was always out and about. I didn't know that he had acquired a love for gardening so the next time I'm in my garden, I'll think of him. Perhaps he's already pulling weeds in Heaven and making people laugh! Hope so!

My Sincere Sympathy to all the family!
My memories of Gerald are more of when he was a very young boy, he & Dennis & Frannie used to go visit Gradma O'Neil, she would be sitting at the kitchen table, and would always love seeing them. She would take their little hands & just hold them. I couldn’t help thinking today she just may be holding his dear hand again.
It is consouling to know he had a more pain free year and passed peacefully, and he was at Peace. God Bless all of you!
With Love to all the family, Catherine (Rogers) Johnson (1st cousin)
I regret not being able to attend.

Gerald loved to come and visit Anthony, and sit with him under the tree close to the barn, in the back yard. Prior to sitting down, he always picked a couple stalks of Anthony's rhubarb from the back of the barn. He always stated though, that his mother's rhubarb was the best! When Gerald and Cecilia lived in Edmonton, they always had a little vegetable garden in front. Anthony swore nobody grew as tasty a tomato as Gerald! We're going to miss you, Gerald.Condolences to Cecilia, Kate, and Sarah.

I was shocked to hear of Gerald’s passing, my condolences to Cecilia and families. I pray he will be joined with his siblings and parents in a better place. I remember them all when they were young, when I used to babysit. Uncle Nach’s family were always special to our family, he loved my Mother and teased her so much. Sorry I will not be able to attend the funeral; as I will be away at that time. My sympathies to all Gerald’s siblings. Love your cousin Annetta, Bedford NS.
