With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of John “Eddy” Power, who left this world on May 14th, 2025 at home. Eddy was born December 29th, 1964 in Arichat, NS. He was the son of Sylvia (Landry) Power and the late Lloyd Power.
He is survived by his loving wife Marilyn Power, Melville, NS; Mother, Sylvia Power; Children, Marina (Blake) Power, Alberta, Tara (Adam) Power, Alberta, Step - children, Evan (Crystal) LaRade, Alberta, Amy (Adam) Ryan, Port Hawkesbury; Grandchildren, Kanen, Remi, Riley, Abby, Layla and Ryder; Brother, Joey (Cathy) Power; Sisters, Lorna (Dean) Pickett, Fran Power; Special Aunt, Nola Meunier; He also leaves behind many loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Eddy was predeceased by his father, Lloyd Power, Aunt Sylvia Jackman; Nephews, Brandon and baby Pickett.
Eddy joined the military in 1983 and was an MSE - OP until he retired in 2001. Eddy, loved his morning ritual of going for his coffee and then off to the Island to visit with his best friends Gary, Donald and Barry. Then he would head home to his loving wife aka his little spitfire where he enjoyed a quiet evening. In the warmer months Eddy could be seen riding his Harley , sitting on the deck and just enjoying his time with Marilyn, no matter what they were doing. To know Eddy was to love Eddy. His life was full of love, dedication and quiet strength.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Homes Ltd. and cremation has taken place. Service will be held on Thursday May 22nd, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 150, 1219 Veteran's Memorial Dr., Arichat. Reception will follow.
