James Archibald ‘Archie’ Stewart

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of James Archibald ‘Archie’ Stewart of Port Hawkesbury at home surrounding by his wife, Pamela and beloved dog Coco on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, after a long hard battle with cancers and COPD.
Archie was born on August 15, 1950, to the late Hazel (Canning) and late Maurice Stewart Westville. Besides his parents Archie is predeceased by his brother, Robi; mother-in-law, Barabara West and brother-in-law, Patrick West.
Archie is survived by his devoted wife and care giver Pamela of twenty years. His son’s, Tony, Calgary and Patrick (Kim) and grandson, Brandon, Calgary and his bonus son’s, Jacob, Port Hawkesbury, and Jonny (Victoria), Halifax; his sisters, Heather (Ron), Westville; Doreen, Westville; brothers, Gordon (Carol), Westville; Roy (Janet), Halifax; father-in-law, Earl West (Kathleen), Port Hawkesbury; brother-In-law, Paul (Jenny), Mississauga; Peter, (Julie and family), Oshawa; Philip, (Sheri and family), Truro; many nieces, nephews, cousins. Also left to mourn his best friend, Paul (Tanya); Port Hawkesbury, who will always remember and cherish their movie days.
Archie’s generosity, big heart, gentle spirit, and great smile will be missed by all who knew him. Archie was a retired Engineer, and he spent the last 15 years working with Cancer Care from Nova Scotia to Vancouver.

Marchand and Palliative Care Team, Dr. Lisa Gillis and RN Kyla, OT Courtney and RN’s Paula, Adel, Mallory, and CCA’s Karen, Monique, Victoria, Kelsey, for all your love and support during Archie illness to be able for him to remain home where he wanted to be. Upon Archie’s request, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal visitation. A Celebration Of Life will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 11a.m., in St. Marks United Church, 504 Bernard St., Port Hawkesbury with Barbara Blois-MacNaughton officiating. Reception to follow in the church hall.
