MacInnis, Mary Beatrice

1935 – 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother Beatrice, who was called home on Friday, March 14th at the age of 89.

Beatrice was a truly remarkable women whose love knew no bounds. Her caring nature and warm spirit touched the lives of everyone around her. She had an incredible ability to make anyone feel special, always remembering the little things that mattered most. Known for her spicy personality, she brought joy and laughter to every gathering. Her stories and laughter will echo in our hearts, reminding us of all the beautiful moments we shared with her.

As a mother, grandmother and great grandmother she was a beacon of love and support, always present for her family. Her legacy of kindness and strength will continue to inspire us all. Beatrice knew everyone in the community, and her friendship was a testament to her vibrant spirit. She made lasting connections that enriched her life and the lives around her.

She is survived by her children: Jim (Darlene), Archie (Debby), Donnie (Shelly), Howard and Crystal all of Port Hawkesbury. Alvin, Edmonton, AB, Peggy (Marvin), Dartmouth, Patsy (Paul), Halifax. 15 Grandchildren, 20 Great Grandchildren.

Sisters: Yvonne (Don), Martina (Francis), all of Port Hawkesbury, Joan (Gary) Lexington, Kay, Ont. Brother, Russell (Jean), Lexington.  

Predeceased by; her parents John D “Jack” MacNeil & Lida nee LeBlanc, Brothers; Artie, Johnie, and Malcolm. Sisters; Stella, Clara, Marie & Mona, 4 brothers, 1 sister in infancy and great granddaughter Halle.

A very special Thank You to her granddaughters Leah (Pat) O’Quinn & Jennifer MacInnis, Great Granddaughters, Emelia, Olivia O’Quinn and Gabriella MacInnis for looking after Nanny for the past few years.

We are forever grateful for the time we had with her, and she will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 18 from 2 – 8 pm at Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 19 at 10 am at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Port Hawkesbury, with burial to follow in the parish cemetery and reception in the church basement.

Flowers are welcome, and donations may be made in Beatrice’s memory to Strait Richmond Palliative Care.

We would like to thank to Dr. Hanspal, Dr. Gillis, Dr. DeRoche, Kyla MacKeigan and all the staff and nurses of the Strait Richmond Hospital Emergency / Palliative Care Unit for the excellent care Beatrice and the family received.
