Obituary of Cyril Joseph MacPhee
Cyril MacPhee
March 29th, 1956 – January 31st, 2025
Finding much needed peace, Cyril left this world surrounded by Family and Friends.
To the rest of the world, he was a musician – to us he was a Husband, a Dad, a brother, an Uncle and a Friend.
Cyril is survived by his wife Rhodena; their daughter, Haley (Kelly and step-grandchild Saege); Brothers, Hughie (Paulette), Malcie (Marie) and Edward; Sisters, Geraldine, Ann (Bradley) and Juanita; Brother-in-law, Rod LeBlanc and Father-in-law Leo LeBlanc.
Cyril had the best Nieces and Nephews and Grand-Nieces and Nephews any Uncle could ask for as well as a special Godchild Nicole Campbell.
Cyril was predeceased by his parents Johnny and Elden MacPhee, his sister Fran and his brother-in-law Rubin LeBlanc.
During the final stage of his illness, he was able to remain at home thanks to the remarkable support team he had, his “Earth Angels” (the Homecare workers and Nurses) his “Brother”/Cousin Edward, his “twin” Sister Ann, Frances and his Best Friend Norman Oram, Michealette Barrington, Linda MacKinnon and Bonnie and Harold Davidson. The endless check-ins from Larry & Sue Dauphinee and the constant visits and texts from Blaise Sampson checking to make sure all was good were so appreciated.
Many thanks to Jennifer Mombourquette, Glenda Kipp, Dr. Glen Worth, Leslie LeRue and the Palliative care team who were always only a phone call away.
Cyril loved his “Brakin’ Tradition” Family; his Brother from another mother Buddy MacDonald and Wilda. He had so much love and respect for the many musicians he collaborated with during his career – there were so, so many – to name a few in recent years Rob MacLean, Gervais Cormier and Marcel LeForte.
You’ll find him in every song!
Remember him for his bell-clear tenor, his inappropriate sense of humor and his saucy grin.
We Love You!
“Go Happy You Now and Farewell”
A celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
