Obituary of Louise Anna Harnish

Please share a memory of Louise to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Harnish, Anne Louise age 95, Little Dover, Guys Co., N.S.  It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.  Mom passed away at 1:50 a.m., Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Milford Haven Nursing Home, Guysborough.

Born in Little Dover on June 26, 1927 she was the daughter of the late John Myatt (D`Escousse) and Mary Elizabeth Rhynold, Little Dover.  Louise is survived by her four loving children, Calvin (Sheila), Little Dover; Herbert (Lorraine,) Little Dover; Nelson (Bernadette), Fox Island; Wanda Bouchie, Hazel Hill; Twelve grandchildren, many great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her brother, Alcide Myatt “Eck”, Little Dover; sister, Agnes Boudreau, Wakefield, Mass., and lots of wonderful nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband, Isaac Harnish; son, Dorian Harnish; son-in-law, Donald Bouchie; brothers, Gerard, Hughie, Lawrence, Thomas; half-siblings, Donald, Edna, Bridget, Cecile and partner Harold Gillis (Rocky Bay).

Mom was an amazing seamstress (self taught), she made beautiful quilts.  She loved to bake and worked at Guysco Bakery in Canso for many years.  She was a well-respected member of her community, a member of the St Anne's Society, The Ladies Auxiliary of the Little Dover Vol Fire Dept and one of the oldest and original members of the Shamrock Club, Canso.  Mom enjoyed a game of cards and bingo, but most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.  She cherished every visit and phone call; it brightened her day.  Mom was a woman of deep faith and attended mass weekly.  She will be missed so much.

Our family would like to thank the staff of the Milford Haven Nursing Home, Guysborough, Mom spent two and a half years there and they treated her like royalty, she was referred to as the "Queen Mom".  She developed some amazing friendships with the staff and some of them will always be considered family. We appreciate everything you did for our mom.

Visitation will take place at Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso, Wednesday, March 1, 2023 from 2-8 p.m.  Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2023, 11 a.m. in St. Agnes Parish Center, Little Dover with Father Jonathan Nnajiofor officiating. Interment at a later date.  Reception will follow at the Parish center.  Family flowers only, memorial donations may be made to St. Agnes Parish, Little Dover.  Words of comfort maybe forwarded to the family at: www.haverstocks.com
