WHALEN, Florence I. (MacNeil)- 90, Orangedale, Inverness, Co., passed away very peacefully Thursday, February, 14,2008 in Alderwood Rest Home, Baddeck. Born in Janvrin Harbour on May, 4, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Daniel Joseph and Euphemia (Robinson) Mac Neil. Florence was a homemaker and a member of Holy Trinity Parish, Waycobah. She will be sadly missed by daughters Shirley MacKay, Orangedale, Sharlene Woods, Halifax; son John W. “Bill” (Margie) Sutherland, Lower Sackville; brother Rod Mac Neil, Edwardsville; 15 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband Sterling Sutherland, second husband Reginald Whalen, sons Sterling and Ronnie Sutherland, grandson Bill Sutherland, granddaughter Debbie Mc Tiernan sisters Stella, Kate, Helen, Rose, Violet, brothers Ben, Jack and Hiram Mac Neil. Visitation will be from 2-8pm today in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Whycocomagh. Funeral mass will be Sunday at 2pm in Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, with Fr. Bernie MacDonald officiating.
