MacIVER, Elizabeth Ellen “Bessie” … 99, Port Hastings, died Thursday, April 17, 2008 in St. Anne Community and Nursing Care Centre, Arichat. Born in Eden, Inverness, Co., she was the daughter of the late William and Annie Laurie (MacKinnon) Miller. Bessie was a homemaker and an Adherent of St. David’s United Church, Port Hastings. Bessie also enjoyed a good game of cards. She is survived by daughters Betty (Jim) Langley, Port Hawkesbury, Mabel Morrison, Florida; sons Richard (Noreen), Troy, Neil (Isabell), Port Hastings; grandchildren John, Joy, Colleen, Mark, Cindy, Alan, Laurie, Kelly, James, Debbie, Pam; 22 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her husband John, sisters Violet Anderson, Marion Unsworth, brothers Anson, James, Dick and Walter. Visitation will be held 2-9pm Monday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral service will be 11am Tuesday in St. David’s United Church, with Rev. Sheldon LeGrow officiating. Burial in Fir Grove Cemetery, River Denys. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
