WATTS, Eva Alexanna - Port Hood. It is with great sadness that we, the family of Eva Watts, Port Hood, announce her sudden passing on April 8, 2007, in Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home. Born June 14, 1917, on Port Hood Island, she was a daughter of the late Ira D. and Annie (Watts) Cameron.
Eva attended Success Business College, Truro, and worked for the Taxation Office for the County of Inverness. Eva then became secretary for Inverness County School Board and after many years of service retired with many honors. For nearly 60 years, Eva volunteered her services playing the organ at Jubilee United Church on Port Hood Island and at St. Stephen's United Church, Port Hood. Eva was a lifetime elder of St. Stephen's United Church and a valuable member of the UCW. She was also a member of the Red Cross and many other organizations. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John F. Watts; brothers, Ralph, David, Chester and Fred. She is survived by brother, William (Anna) Cameron, Port Hood; all her loving nieces and nephews, of whom she thought the world of.
Cremation has taken place. The late Eva Alexanna Watts will rest in Saint Stephen's United Church in Port Hood with visitation from 1 to 2 Saturday afternoon. And from where funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:30 with Reverend Linda Stumpf officiating. Burial in Union Protestant Cemetery.
