San CARTIER, Joseph Edward "Eddy" 93, St. Peter's, and formerly of Port Hawkesbury, died Tuesday, October 14, 2008, in Richmond Villa, St. Peters. Born in Port Arthur, Ont., he was a son of the late Peter and Mary S. (Perron) San Cartier. Eddy was a self-employed independent trucker; a founding member of the Nova Scotia Trucker's Association and was its provincial secretary until his retirement. Surviving are daughters, Mona, Dallas, Tex.; Carol, Baton Rouge, La.; one son, who "shan't be named"; sister, Cecile Patterson, Winnipeg, Man.; grandchildren, Ginette MacIsaac/Jorna, Mark MacIsaac and Charles Foley; great-grandchildren, Julian and Keara Jorna, Australia; Hector and Mason MacIsaac, both of Annapolis Valley. He is predeceased by his wife, Huguette (Landry) and brother, Lawrence.
Visitation and funeral service will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Memorial donations may be made to the homes where Joseph/Eddy received comfort and happiness in his latter years: Marian Residence in Port Hood, managed by the "Sisters of Our Lady Immaculate" and the Richmond Villa, St. Peter's.
