RYAN, John Colin … 60, Port Hawkesbury, died Thursday, January 17,2008 at home. Born in Point Tupper, Richmond, Co, he was a son of the late Colin Francis and Mary Alice (Hayes) Ryan. John was a retired equipment operator with Stora Enso Point Tupper, Material Handling Dept. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish, Port Hawkesbury and an associate member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 43, Port Hawkesbury. He is survived by daughter Karen (Eric Windsor); son Robert (Natasha) all of Port Hawkesbury; sisters Sadie Hearn, Ruby (Lorne) Johnstone, all of St. Margaret’s Bay; brother Harold, Yarmouth; grandchildren Michael, Christine, Taylor; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by an infant sister, sister in law Carol, brother in law Fred Hearn, nephews Colin Hearn, George Cock. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9pm Monday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral mass will be held 11am Tuesday in St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Hugh D. MacDonald officiating. Burial in the Parish Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Point Tupper Heritage Association or a charity of your choice.
