ROSE, Willis -73, Halifax, formerly of Canso, passed away suddenly Friday, April 11, 2008 in Canso. Born in LaPoile Bay, NL, he was a son of the late Bill MacDonald and Maize Rose. He served as the Chief Engineer on the draggers out of Canso, Mulgrave and Port Bickerton. Willis was a member of All Saints Anglican Church, Canso. He is survived by his wife Pauline (Richardson); daughters Melda (Zvonko) Blazevic, Janet Richards, both of Halifax; Tanya (Steve) Wittig, Vancouver, BC; sons Doug (Laura), Tom (Patsy) both of Canso; sister Florence Francis, Rose Blanche, NL; mother-in-law Blanche Richardson, Canso. Also leaving to mourn grandchildren Matthew, Beth, Wendy, Lezlie, Stephen, Dalton; four great-grandchildren; 3 nephews, 2 nieces. Willis was predeceased by two nephews, one niece; his feline friend Precious.
There will be no visitation. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday in All Saints Anglican Church, Canso, with Rev. Tory Byrne officiating. Burial at a later date. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations in memory of Willis may be made to your favorite charity. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso.
