RICHARDS, Eugene Charles -82, Hazel Hill, Guysborough Co., died on Friday, October 3, 2008 in Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso. Born in Hazel Hill he was a son of the late Vital and Harriet (Rossong) Richard. Eugene worked for I.L.A. Helterm in Halifax, retiring in 1987. He was a member of the Halifax Longshoremen Association, Local 269 and the Star of the Sea Parish, Canso. Eugene loved hunting and fishing, was known for his fly tying ability. He is survived by his loving companion Marjorie Robar; children Stephen, P.J. (Kendra), Marian and stepson Brian (Margot) Robar; sister Thresa Lewis, Hazel Hill; 12 grandchildren. Eugene was predeceased by daughter Joanne; brothers Edward and Stan. There will be no visitation. Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday in the Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, with Father Daniel Boudreau officiating. Burial in the Parish Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations may be made to the Star of the Sea Parish. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso.
