Simpson, Edna Mae R.N. … 93, Boylston - went to her final rest, Sunday, October 4, 2009, in the Milford Haven Home for Special Care, Guysborough. Edna was a daughter of the late Burton J. and Jennie (Martin) Simpson. She was born in 1916, in Boylston, NS and was a graduate of the Nursing program in 1939, at the old Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. She furthered her education in Montreal and London, specializing in Obstetrics and Psychiarty. Edna retired from the Old Guysborough Memorial Hospital in 1981. She was lifelong member of the Boylston United Church. She is survived by son, Wayne, Boylston; daughter, Ivy (Dave) Vrooman, BC; granddaughters, Kerry and Angela, great-grandson Bryceson, brother, Roy Simpson. She was predeceased by her husband, Sidney A., brother, Albert; sisters, Violet, Lillian, Beulah and Olive. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held, 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2009 in Boylston United Church with Rev. Heather Manuel officiating. Burial in the Church Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations in memory of Edna may be made to Boylston United Church, Milford Haven Home for Special Care, or a charity of choice.
