PRIME, Mary Tryphena (Ena) – 84, St. Peter’s, Richmond Co., died Monday, February 11, 2008 in Richmond Villa, St. Peter’s. Born in St. Peter’s, she was the daughter of the late John and Annie (McKenzie) MacEwen. She was a former member of St. Peter’s Community Club, the Bonnie Brae Senior’s Club, Branch 47 Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary, St. Peter’s United Church Women, St. Peter’s Home and School, Covenant Rebekah Lodge (I.O.O.F.), St. Peter’s United Church Member, and a 50 year member of the St. Peter’s United Church Choir. She is survived by nephews John (Barb) MacEwen, Billy (Sharon) MacEwen, Ian (Rosette) MacEwen; nieces Kendra (Steve) Gesner, Kathy (Colin) MacDougall, Kimberly (Paul) Hiscock, Allison (Kenneth) Martell, as well as sisters-in-law Cecilia MacEwen-Trowhill and Marcia MacEwen ; many grand nieces and grand nephews. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her loving husband Gilbert Prime, sons Darrell, Byron, brothers Kenneth, William (Bunter), Harvey MacEwen, sister in law Mary Irene (Flood) MacEwen and sister Georgina in infancy. She will be fondly remembered by everyone who knew her as having a lovely singing voice, kind disposition, soft spoken manners and unending smile. She will be remembered as a gracious person whom everyone loved. Those of us that were close to her will never forget the tasty baked goods that she used to make for us. She was a lifetime resident of St. Peter’s, and since 2000 she has been a resident of the Richmond Villa in St. Peter’s, where she was shown exceptional care, concern and compassion. The family wants to offer their sincere thanks to Dr. Romeo Tan and the Richmond Villa staff for the respect and dignity they have shown. The care and concern shown will never be forgotten. Visitation will be Saturday May 10 from 11am until 1pm in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, 26 Centennial Street, St. Peter’s. Funeral service will be 2pm Saturday May 10 in St. Peter’s United Church, St. Peter’s with Rev. Donald MacDonald officiating. Burial in Lakeview Cemetery, St. Peter’s. A reception will follow in the United Church Hall. Memorial donations may be made to Richmond Villa Activity Department, the Dr. WB Kingston Memorial Clinic or the St. Peter’s United Church Memorial Fund.
