Obituary
Please share a memory of Donna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Pile-Lumsden, Donna Marlene - 56, Boylston, It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, nanna, sister, aunt and friend. Donna passed away at home on Monday, February 23, 2009 with her family at her side. Born in Guysborough, Donna was the daughter of the late Earl and Jean (Whidden) Hart of Boylston. As a familiar and loved member of her community, Donna was known for her beautiful voice, love of music and her kind ways. Over her years working at Hart's Grocery in Boylston, Donna was the daily bright spot for many, greeting with a cup of coffee and ready for a chat.
Donna was a proud mother and nanna, and had a special affection for her feline friends. She faced her illness in the same manner she faced life, with strength and courage. Her only request; 'If you love me, then sing'. The community will be singing forevermore. Donna is survived by her children Hazen Pile, Edmonton and Amanda (Rob) Langille, Bridgewater; granddaughters Alesha and Rebecca Langille; brothers Eric (Evie), California, Gerald, Boylston, Jack (Regina), Guysborough, Kevin (Brenda), Edmonton; sisters Audrey (Sidney) MacPherson, Boylston, Diane (Shawn) Hadley, Guysborough; sister-in-law Germaine Hart, Halifax; and many nieces and nephews, and special niece Pam. She was predeceased by brothers David, Robert "Bob" and Hazen.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation and a private family burial will be at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Guysborough Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Guysborough. Thank you to Dr.Anita Foley and home care nurses Karen and Maureen.
