Newell, Kathy Geneva - 59, Tickle, Guys. Co.; passed away Friday, January 30, 2009 as the result of a motor vehicle accident. Born in Canso she was the daughter of Pearl May (Roberts) Bond, Tickle and the late Edward Joseph Bond. Kathy was a fisherman and a member of Canso United Baptist Church. She is survived by her children Brian (Tammy King) Newell, Trenton; their children Sebastien and Dylan; Alen (Michelle) Newell, Fox Island; their children Meghan, Blake and Jade, Melanie (Neil Sullivan) Newell, Liverpool ; their children Mavie and Aiden; Christopher (Larissa Durling) Newell, Halifax and Katherine (Ryan Nickerson) Newell, soon to be mother, Antigonish. Also leaving to mourn sisters Rosie and Mary, both of Tickle; brothers Howard and Jim, both of Tickle; also surviving is her baby Angel. Kathy was predeceased by her husband Michael. Visitation will held 7-9 pm Monday and 9-11 am Tuesday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral service will be held 2 pm Tuesday in Canso United Baptist Church with Rev. David Wheeler officiating. Burial in Fourth Hill Cemetery. Flowers are welcome.
