MacLennan, Alexander “Sandy” - 69, Valley Mills, died Saturday, September 26, 2009 in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital, Inverness. Sandy was born in Glace Bay, Cape Breton, the adopted son of the late Dan Alex and Mary (MacDonald) MacLennan. He retired from Little Narrows Gypsum where he was a heavy equipment operator. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Roberta (Garland) MacLennan; children, Patricia (William) Clarke, Lake Echo; Brian (Eva), River Denys, John Robert (Jennifer), Whycocomagh and Jennifer, Halifax; grandchildren, Daniel, Rebecca and Meghan and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by, sister, Margaret and brother, John Martin. Visitation will be held 2-9 p.m. Tuesday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Whycocomagh. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday in Stewart United Church with Rev. Janet Blois officiating, assisted by Fr. Duncan MacIsaac. Burial in St. Andrews Cemetery, Baddeck Forks. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations in memory of Sandy may be made to Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice.
