Malcolm, Mary Kathleen - 92, Port Hawkesbury, formerly of Point Tupper, died Sunday, January 3, 2010 in the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home. She was born in Port Hawkesbury, a daughter of the late Ranald J. and Florence (Cox) MacDonald. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish, Port Hawkesbury. In her younger years she provided piano music for many different functions. She is survived by sons, Dean (Geraldine), Hureauville; Darryll, Troy; daughters, Bonnie Basker, Ottawa; Jocelyn Malcolm, Halifax; Verna Weeks, Amherst; Fairlie (Rick) Burnham, Manassass Park, VA; 10 grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband Angus Basker; second husband, John Malcolm and brother, Harold MacDonald. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Thursday with a vigil service at 2 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral mass will be held 10 a.m. Friday, January 8, in St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Port Hawkesbury with Father Andrew Boyd officiating. Burial in the Parish Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made in Kathleen’s memory to a charity of choice.
