KENNEDY, Donald - 86, formerly of 186 South St., Glace Bay. Died Saturday July 21, 2007, in Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home. Born in Glace Bay, he was a son of the late James and Elspeth (Bannerman) Kennedy. Donald was employed with the coal company in Glace Bay until his retirement in 1986. He was an adherent of Epworth United Church, Glace Bay. Surviving are nephew, George (Carolyn) Chant, Marble Mountain; niece, Ann Chant, Montreal; grandnephews, Andrew (Ally), Rev. Jeff (Holly), both of Bedford; grandniece, Patricia (Scott) Sehl, Hamilton Ont.; great-grandnieces, Amelia, Ailin, Lucy, and Haven; great-grandnephew, Sawyer. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by brothers, Robert and Cam; sister, Elspeth "Eppa" Chant. There will be no visitation. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Matthews United Church, Marble Mountain, with Rev. Janet Blois officiating. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Glace Bay, at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Atlantic Division. Reception to follow service in the community hall, Marble Mountain.
