HAYES, Jean Christena -73, of Lower River Inhabitants, passed away peacefully, February 3, 2009, in Strait Richmond Hospital. Born in Bayhead, Colchester Co., she was the daughter of the late James Lawrence and Margaret Ester (Cox) MacNeil. She was predeceased by her husband, Alexander (Sandy) Hayes, and her brother, David MacNeil. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who enjoyed lots of fun and laughter. She will be sadly missed by her children, David Hayes, Dartmouth; Sharon (Austin) McNamara, Lower River Inhabitants, and Cindy (John) Rhymes, Timberlea; grandchildren, who loved her dearly, Stephanie and Arthur McNamara, Bradley Hayes, and Emma and Evan Rhymes. Jean is also survived by her loving sister, Shirley MacNeil (Allen), of Wallace. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations would be greatly appreciated at the Palliative Care Unit of the Strait Richmond Hospital. Celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, February 7, at 11 a.m. in Saint Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church, Lower River Inhabitants with Father Raj Zackarias officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury.
