KAVANAUGH, Lawrence Patrick - 77, St. Francis Harbour, passed away peacefully Monday, February 18, 2008, in Guysborough Memorial Hospital. He was a recent resident of Milford Haven Home for Special Care. Born in St. Francis Harbour on July 15, 1930, he was a son of the late, John and Ethel (Diggins) Kavanaugh. He is survived by his wife, Priscilla (England), Halifax; daughter, Patsy (Dannie Grady), St. Francis Harbour; grandchildren, Laureen and Brenda; son, Martin, Troy; grandchildren, Adam and Megan; sister, Rita Goodwin, Moncton, N.B.; brother, Jack, Dartmouth. He was predeceased by brother, Maurice; sisters, Alice Chisholm and Mary. Pat was a self- employed fisherman, farmer, pulp cutter and worked with the Department of Highways. His interests included electronics, hunting, barbering, meat cutting and astronomy. He loved country music and enjoyed singing and playing his guitar. He was also a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, St. Francis Harbour.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. today in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Guysborough. Funeral mass will be Friday at 11 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church with Father Robert McNeil officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery.
