LEVANGIE, Anna Angela --- 91, Frankville, Antigonish Co. It is with great sadness that we the family announce the passing of Anna in Jesse's Way, Antigonish, on Tuesday, March 10, 2009. Born in Frankville, she was a daughter of the late Francis and Laura (O'Neil) Fougere.
Anna was a longtime member of St. Paul's Parish and CWL, Havre Boucher. She was a model of faith to her family and always looked forward to their visits after they left home. She enjoyed entertaining, playing cards, especially bridge in her younger years, and will always be remembered for her delicious rolls and pastries, and her love of sharing. Anna will be deeply missed by her daughters, Patricia Josey, Dartmouth; Paula (Paul) Breen, Frankville; Marion (Lloyd) DeWolfe, Halifax; Dianne (Giles) Gaudet, Shad Bay; Janice (Donnie) Tobin, Truro; sons, Peter (Janet), Ottawa; Curtis (Joan), Porters Lake; 20 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She will also be surely missed by brothers, Xavier (Maude) Fougere, Stoney Creek, Ont.; Gerard Fougere, Canso; Elmer (Isabel) Fougere, Frankville; sister, Mary Frances (Jerry) Bent, Oshawa, Ont.; sisters-in-law, Evelyn, Stoney Creek, Ont.; Florence, Cornwall, Ont.; Olga, Winnipeg, Man.; Bernice, Chilliwack, B.C. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Patrick Xavier; sons, Ambrose and his wife Anne, Stanton and his wife Monica; grandsons, Patrick Levangie, Brian Josey; granddaughter, Cheryl Anne Breen; 10 loving brothers and sisters, whom she helped mother in her younger years.
The family would like to thank her many caregivers, including homecare. Special thanks to June Daviau, and her compassionate assistants who cared for and loved her to the end and Jeremiah, her ray of sunshine.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 12, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in St. Paul's Centre, Havre Boucher. Funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 13, in St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, with Father Allan MacPhie officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to: Feed Nova Scotia, Havre Boucher Community Centre or a charity of your choice.
