Langley, James Sherman ”Jimmy Nick”- 83, Port Hawkesbury, died Tuesday, September 1, 2009 in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish with his loving family at his side. Jimmy Nick was born in Port Hawkesbury, a son of the late Nicholas Henry and Ada Maria (Philpott) Langley. He was employed as a crane operator with the CNR and worked at Nova Scotia Forestries Ltd., in maintenance until his retirement. Jimmy was a kind and loving husband, he loved his home and family and was an avid reader and enjoyed a weekly card game at the union hall. He was a member of St. Mark’s United Church, and a member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 43, Port Hawkesbury. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Laura Jean (Cameron) Langley; daughters, Janice (Wayne) Langille, Port Hood; Arlene Bussey, Port Hawkesbury; Debra Langley, Fort McMurray; granddaughters, Laura, Leeanne, Sarah, Rebecca, Jessica, Alyson; great-granddaughter Hallie and great-grandson Benjamin . He was predeceased by sisters, Phyllis in infancy and Norma, brother, Bain. Visitation will be held Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mark's United Church, Port Hawkesbury, with Rev. Sheldon LeGrow officiating. Burial in Southbrook Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations in memory of Jimmy Nick may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, St. Marks United Church or a charity of your choice.
