GARDNER, Ida Marion- 99, Guysborough. b. 5 April 1909- d.26 July 2008. Born in River Hebert, Marion was the daughter of the late Rev. George S. and Hattie G. (Bryant) Gardner. As a child of the Manse, she lived in a number of communities as a child, and in the 1950s she moved with her mother to Guysborough from Halifax to be closer to her sisters. She was a member of the United Church Women and had played the organ in several churches in the local area for a number of years. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. An avid reader, she shared her interest with many of the ladies in the community. At the time of her death she was a resident of the Milford Haven Home for Special Care and the family appreciates the good and generous attention that she received while there. She is survived by several generations of nieces and nephews The last surviving member of her immediate family, she was predeceased by her parents, brother George, and sisters Helen Algar, Jean Grant and Dorothy Jones, and niece Helen (Jones) Long. No visitation by her direction. A family service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Wesley United Church Building Fund.
