George, Eva May … 88, Clydesdale, Antigonish Co., formerly of Manassette Lake, Guysborough Co. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Great - Great-Grandmother and friend, who passed away peacefully, at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish, with her family by her side, Wednesday, June 10, 2009. Born in Red Head, Guysborough Co, she was the daughter of the late George and Charity Ann (Williams) Carter. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Eva is survived by sons, Gordon (Viola), Port Shoreham; Albert, Allison (Gail), both of Belmont; Billy, Louis (Marina),both of Manassette Lake; special son, Jimmy (Gail), Antigonish; daughters, Victoria (Lewis) Hendsbee, Halfway Cove; Peggy(Gerald) Dacey, Moncton, NB; 37 grandchildren and 46 great- grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren also several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Delbert, daughter Agatha, son, Robert in infancy, grandchildren Russell and Barry, Brothers, Henry, Gordon, Joseph, Gardiner, Johnny and Albert; sisters, Mary, Bertha, Dorothy.
Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Saturday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Guysborough. Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Sunday in Wesley United Church, Guysborough, with Rev. Peter Smith and Rev. Heather Manuel officiating. Burial in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Hadleyville. Memorial donations in memory of Eva may be made to Antigonish and Area Homemaker Services, V.O.N.
