Greencorn, Howard Edison, 77 … Half Island Cove, Guysborough Co.; died Sunday, October 11, 2009 in Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso. Born in Half Island Cove he was a son of the late Stephen and Beatrice (Greencorn) Greencorn. Howard lived in Ontario and worked for the Canada Centre for Inland Waters until his retirement in 1991, when he returned to Half Island Cove. He is survived by his wife Jean (Newell), daughter Susan (Byron) Brooks, grandchildren Jessica and Jason, Hamilton, Ont.; sister Vivian (Lawrence) Williams, Half Island Cove. Howard was predeceased by his daughter, Kathy. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, August 7th, in All Saints Anglican Church, Canso, with Rev. Darroch Fagan officiating. Burial in the Church Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in memory of Howard may be made to the Palliative Care Unit, Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso.
