MELONG, William Berchmans –74 In loving memory of William Berchmans Melong of Port Hawkesbury and formerly of Havre Boucher passed away on Tuesday March 30, 2021 in Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston. He is survived by his loving wife Mary of 49 years, children; Sheila (Jeff) Rafters, Timberlea, Lisa Melong, Port Hawkesbury, Bill (Tara) Melong, Brandon, MB, Cindy (Brad) MacDonald, Dundee, Jason (Kari) Melong, Antigonish and Kyle Melong, Port Hawkesbury; grandchildren, Brennan and Morgan Rafters, Timberlea; many brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by parents Joe and Anna Melong and brothers Bert and Bernie. Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 6 only in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, 724 Granville Street, Port Hawkesbury. By invitation only a Funeral mass will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 7 from St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Port Hawkesbury with Father Conrad Edwards officiating, burial to follow in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations maybe made to COPD Foundation or to Strait Richmond Palliative Care.
