Isabel has finally found peace and is with her family in heaven. She was a wonderful friend and a talent, loving, and loyal woman, and we shared so many good times together. It's always hard to say good bye to those we love, but she is at peace and for me that's a blessing. Please know that you are all in my prayers. Hugs Emily

I have known Isabel, this kind, warm, loving, generous human, my entire life and many of my happiest memories include her - I am smiling as I remember her on horseback, playing the piano, singing, laughing, smiling, teasing, joking, and just being Izzy. She was very close to both Mom and Dad (she and Al sang at their wedding), as she was with so many people, and they thoroughly enjoyed her visits (as did we all) - our house would ring with music and laughter; these were truly wonderful times! Isabel was our go to for religious celebrations of all kinds and she helped to make each of these occasions special and memorable. I miss her. Thinking of you all and sending love and warm wishes. God Bless. Teresa, Robert, Gabriel, Justin, Mitchell, and Shelagh

Sincere condolences to Bernadette, Ronnie and families. I was fortunate enough to have met Isabel a couple times over the years and from reading some of the messages sent so far, she was the same amazing person from the first minute you met her. Nothing more I can add that's not already been mentioned except to say that the world is a dimmer place tonight because we all lost a shining star. RIP Isabel....

My sincere condolences to the Fougere families on the passing of dear Isabel. I taught music at Beaverbank Kinsac for a short time after she retired but met her there and through the Koday Society. She shared her wealth of knowledge and experience with fellow music teachers and was always complimentary and supportive to us. I loved her spirit and humour. A beautiful lady! May she rest in peace.

I wish to express my condolences to the family of Isobel who was a member of our small bookclub. She was a talented, lovely woman and brought such spirit to our meetings. She was such an accomplished person. We loved going to her home on the lake where she swam so often, served us food, and played the piano so beautifully. She played Memory and I sang once on a visit. I will miss her. sincerely Patsy Murphy

I have been grieving for Isabel since she first went into Parkstone. Now with her passing I rejoice that she is no longer suffering the debilitating aspects of her illness. I miss her tremendous sense of humour, her kindness and generosity, her friendship. As I have been recalling our friendship over the years it brings lots of tears but so much laughter . Our "Church Street" days, our beach trips to Queensland, her skill with so many musical instruments, her gift of song, her supportive love for family and friends - I thank God that she was a part of my life.

I taught alongside Isobel at BeaverBank Kansas Elementary. I remember her as being so incredibly kind and loving. She always had a twinkle in her eye and loved to laugh. Her music students were like an extended family to her and she was very sensitive to their individual needs. Dear Isobel: Rest in peace and know that you were much loved and made such a positive influence in so many people's lives.

Please accept my deepest condolences on Isabel's passing. She was one of my dearest friends for so many years, a cherished colleague in music education, and a constant support for me. I will treasure all the many laughs and memories of trips to Lunenburg, music conferences, music festivals, our choirs performing together, and her wonderful, generous way of making me feel like one of her family. No matter where we went, we always ran into someone she knew. Her phrase "no sand in Issy's car" lives on in my family lore. I learned early on that to sit with her in class, concert, or at a conference meant learning how to keep a straight face because she would always have something to quietly say that start me laughing. I will miss her forever. Much love, Martha Healy

Sending love and condolences to the Fougere Family on the passing of a beautiful soul, Isabel. I had the honour and absolute pleasure getting to know and work along side of Isabel as a fellow music teacher in what was formally known as the Halifax County-Bedford District School Board (now part of the HRCE). Her devotion to and creativity for music making with her students was unparalleled - a joy to witness! Isabel's generous nature saw her volunteer many hours with the Kodaly Society of Nova Scotia, having been a long time member and serving in various executive role positions. What I cherish the most in having been lucky enough to call Isabel a friend, is how happy I always felt after spending time with her - oh, the laughs we had.....!! Isabel has the best twinkle in the eye of anyone I have ever met. She deserves every ounce of peace and joy that heaven has to offer. I will keep you in thought and in prayer in the coming days as I know how much you all meant to Isabel. God bless.

I had the privilege of serving in church music ministry with Isabel in Timberlea at Sacred Heart Church in the 80's and 90's. Isabel welcomed everyone, built up their strengths, and played and sang worship music with passion. She loved to serve, had a wonderful sense of humour and was loved by everyone. It was important to her that music was done well, and she was a huge asset to our parish. I will always have fond memories of Isabel! She is now singing with the angels.

Please accept our condolences on your loss. I had the good fortune to teach with Izzy at Beaver Bank Kinsac school. She was a fantastic music teacher who always made her students feel valued and respected. She always said that she never met a person who couldn't sing and so created beautiful music wherever she went. She was a delight and joy to be around always going out of her way to make the other feel welcome. Fare thee well Izzy!!! You are loved!!
