Kinney, Harriet Genevieve "Bonnie" Born- April 11, 1930 - Died- December 19, 2021
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Bonnie, beloved Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Mother-in-law and Aunt, on Sunday, December 19, 2021, on 4E/ An Cala Palliative Care Unit, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, NS, at the age of 91. Mom was a beautiful, loving, classy lady and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Bonnie enjoyed life, especially going fishing with her true love Angus, as well as bowling, dancing, playing cards, skating, swimming and watching hockey and baseball on TV. She also enjoyed working in her flower garden, picking berries to prepare her homemade jams, pickling vegetables from their garden, traveling and visiting family, especially her children and grandchildren. Bonnie and her beloved Angus recently celebrated their 62nd Wedding Anniversary.
Left to cherish her memory, she is survived by Angus L Kinney; son, Darrell Kinney (Stephanie Hunter); daughters, Paula (Dave) L'Oiseau, Belinda Kinney (Stephen Beed), Kendra Kinney, Melinda Kinney (Iain Powell) and siblings; Pearl Malcolm (Anne Ferguson), Ida Bennett, Lennie (Donna) Malcolm, Patsy (Rodger) Fancey and Grandchildren; Ky Greyson, Peter L’Oiseau, Jimmy, Nicole and Beth Collicutt, Genna and Catie Beed, Nate and Isaac Powell, as well as many wonderful nieces and nephew, all who enriched her life greatly. She was predeceased by her parents, Hiram Pearl and Marie Alvina (Meunier) Malcolm: infant brother Walter, sisters Lillian MacDonald and Shirley MacIsaac.
Special thanks to Dr. Gregory Myatt and his nurse Janet, for taking exceptional care of our mother. Thanks also to Dr. Neil MacVicar and his Emergency Team, the Staffing team on 3B, Dr. Peter Poulos, Dr. Ann Frances D'Intino, VON nurses and the wonderful care she received from the Palliative Care Unit Team. They gave our mother the best care possible in her final days.
Due to Covid 19 restrictions a private family graveside service will take place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the, Hospice Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton County.
