Fougere, Joseph Henry "Johnny" - Age 82, of Frankville passed away suddenly at the VG Hospital, Halifax on Thursday, February 17, 2022. Born in Frankville on August 4th,1939, Johnny was the son of the late Henry and Mary (Kovalchick) Fougere. He is survived by his wife, Mary (Pettipas) of 52 years and their children, Lynn (Tremaine) England, Fort McMurray; Shawn (Ann Marie), Tracadie; Kim, Frankville and Cindy (Hisham El-Toghlbi), Calgary; grandchildren, Miranda, Colton, Evan, Colby, Matthew, Caleigh, Margaret, Lilly and Isabel. He is survived by his sisters, Agnes Landry, Halifax; Loretta MacDonald, Enfield and Beatrice (Len) Walser, New Glasgow. He was predeceased by his brother, Roland "Burkey" Fougere and his sister, Margaret MacIssac. Johnny had a deep faith in God, he never missed his weekly mass at St. Paul's Parish, Havre Boucher and St. Francis of Assisi, St. Francis Harbour. He loved playing hockey and baseball in his younger years. He enjoyed a good game of cards with family and friends. He will be remembered as being near the big red barn talking to the neighbours going by. He was a member of the Havre Boucher Volunteer Fire Department. Johnny worked at the Heavy Water Plant, and Louisanna-Georgia Pacific, Port Hawkesbury until retirement. Johnny was an extremely hard worker throughout his life and took great pride in his family farm. Cremation has taken place and wake will take place on Thursday, February 24th, 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. in St. Paul’s Center, Havre Boucher. Due to COVID 19 restriction, there will be a private funeral Mass at St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, Havre Boucher on Friday, February 25th, 2022 with Father Allan MacPhie officiating. (Photo Id and proof of double vaccination required). Memorial donations can be made to St. Paul’s Cemetery or the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Homes, Port Hawkesbury.
